Senior IMPACT instructor 10th Degree Black Belt

Grand Master Doug Meeks is Main Street Martial Arts’s Senior IFS-IMPACT instructor, and a Certified Master Instructor in Kenpo, Jeet Kune Do & Haganah. He is respected as one of the best kenpo practitioners and street fighter. He is a brown belt in Danzan Ryu jiu jitsu and proficient in many street jiu jitsu systems. As a life-long martial artist, he strives to study and bring anything of value into the system he teaches to empower everyone he instructs. 

When not instructing his students in martial arts at Main Street Martial Arts, you can find Doug instructing his students for the NVUSD in physical education. Also he travels with Master Lance around the country teaching and leaning as many systems as he can. 

Doug is a 10th Degree Black Belt and brings over 40 years of martial arts experience to Main Street Martial Arts. He is married, has 3 children, and earned his Bachelors degree in exercise physiology. He was previously a rehabilitation specialist for a pain clinic in Marin County for many years.

I've been going to this dojo for about 6 months & the Integrated Fighting System (IFS) classes are exactly what I was looking for. It mixes the best self-defense parts of Western Boxing, Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kempo & street smarts, There are really no katas in the class, just drills in real street threat scenarios. This includes deescalation, multiple attackers, facing guns & knives & going to the ground. it goes from fighting dirty against a stronger opponent, to safely managing your drunk uncle. Doug is the class master. He is so patient at teaching people at all skill levels on how to use the relevant parts from his decades of training. He also makes the class fun! Lance is another excellent IFS instructor, with vast knowledge & great teaching style. If you're looking to learn martial arts & boxing in a no-nonsense self-defense class, this is it.
